Who provides Moyu
Moyu Chinese provides the Moyu Chinese app. Questions and privacy requests can be sent to [email protected].
Information the app handles
Moyu creates an anonymous Firebase account identifier so learning data can sync without asking you to create a named account.
The app can store your Chinese script, pronunciation system, and translation-language preferences; saved videos, sentences, and words; review history; watch progress; and interactions used to keep learning state accurate.
If you contact support, we receive the information you choose to include in your message.
Diagnostics and subscriptions
Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics may receive app activity, device information, diagnostic events, and crash reports so we can understand reliability and improve the app.
If purchases are enabled, Apple and RevenueCat process purchase and entitlement information. Moyu receives subscription status and identifiers needed to unlock features, not your full payment-card details.
Video and infrastructure providers
The app plays YouTube content, so YouTube and Google may process playback and device information under their own policies.
Moyu uses Firebase services for identity and diagnostics, Cloudflare services for the app API and content delivery, and infrastructure providers that store and process synchronized learning data. These providers may process information in countries other than your own.
How information is used
We use app information to provide and synchronize learning features, restore progress, personalize script and language choices, manage subscriptions, prevent abuse, troubleshoot failures, and improve reliability.
Moyu does not sell personal information and does not use the app to serve third-party behavioral advertising.
Retention and deletion
Information is kept for as long as it is reasonably needed to operate the app, protect the service, meet legal obligations, and resolve support issues.
Resetting the anonymous account in the app creates a new account on that device, but it should not be treated as confirmation that all older server records were deleted. To request deletion, email [email protected] with information that can help us identify the anonymous account.
Security, choices, and rights
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, but no storage or transmission system can be guaranteed completely secure.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction, or a copy of information connected to you. Contact us to make a request.
Children and changes
Moyu is a general language-learning app and is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law. A parent or guardian can contact us with a concern.
We may update this policy as the app changes. The date at the top will show when the latest version took effect.
